Born and raised in San Bernardino City, Lawrence Hardy has always been a dreamer. Lawrence Hardy has had a passion for service and uplifting his community. He was determined not to settle for average but to challenge himself to succeed and break through barriers you usually don’t see people of color represented. Lawrence graduated from Cal State University San Bernardino with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics.  He would continue his education and earn his single & multiple-subject Teaching Credentials and Master’s in Special Education from the University of Redlands. He served years as an educator in the classroom, teaching, coaching, and motivating our youth. He has indeed impacted our community; Mr. Hardy showed our youth other avenues of life by forming step teams on multiple campuses and jaw-dropping performances that are still remembered. In his new role as a Family Engagement Specialist, he still has a love for service and people in mind. He finds true joy in bringing out-of-the-box ideas and events targeting the African American Community, for he believes that if “Our kids are heard, seen, genuinely engaged and acknowledged, they will be successful in school and life.

Lawrence’s passions continued to the court, where he has been an AAU basketball coach for the last 15 years, competing against teams from all over the country. Lawrence has contributed dedication, passion, love, and knowledge to our community, and he will continue the work, guided by God and serving with all of us in mind.

His motto has always been, “We only get one life to leave a lasting impact in our community. Don’t settle for average; instead, choose to Be Great!”
